I have been wearing contacts (Acuvue 2) for the past 10 years.. and haven’t really had too many problems although I do get protein and allergin buildup.. but i’m sure to change them every two weeks and only wear them about 8 – 11 hours a day. ..
I recently went to a new eye doc.. and he said that long term wear of Acuvue 2 can have enlarged blood vessels.. and that they don’t allow much oxygen to the eye.. so he wants me to try Acuvue Oasys… I have tried them once before and didn’t like them.. tried them again and I still dont really like them… I find my sight isn’t as sharp.. one of them got stuck behind my eye and when I tried to get it out the shape was completely different.. Has anybody had these problems? and have you heard of the side effects of acuvue 2?????
Those problems you mentioned could have been a problem with any brand of lenses you tried. Oasys is probably the most comfortable lense on the market today, WAY more comfortable that AV 2. If you are still hell bent on not going back to Oasys, try Acuvue Advance. AV 2 is known for drying out peoples eyes. If I had to rate them from best to worst, it would go Oasys, Advance, 2.
I personally like Acuvue Oasys better than Acuvue 2. They are more breathable for me and I don’t feel them at all. Acuvue 2 dried my eyes out very quickly. I’ve never had any of the problems you have with Oasys.
I’ve never heard of any of those side effects, though.
